Importance of Hazardous Materials Inspections
Essentially, a hazardous materials inspection will identify the presence of hazardous materials which could affect the health and safety of you and your staff. Hazardous materials inspections are beneficial for a number of reasons including:
Identifies Potential Hazards
One of the most obvious reasons you may arrange for a hazardous materials survey is to identify potential issues in dealing with certain chemicals or materials. Doing so (and thereby teaching others to recognise these things) goes a long way to preventing accidents or reducing the amount of accidents that happen in a workplace.
Maintains Compliance
Workplace health and safety is crucial when in a commercial environment, especially one where hazardous materials may be present. Arranging for professional hazardous material surveys to be completed on a regular basis helps your business maintain compliance and ensure everyone is working safely while on site.

FAQ
We Answer Your Frequently Asked Questions About Hazardous Material Inspections
When searching for specialists in commercial hazardous material surveys, we know how important it is for you to know you’re dealing with the right professionals for you and your business.
To maintain complete transparency, we’ve compiled answers to some of the questions our clients often ask us. However, if the information you’re looking for can’t be found below, we encourage you to get in touch with us. We’re always happy to help.
Why Do I Need Your Services for Hazardous Material Inspections?
Hazardous materials such as asbestos, lead containing paint, lead containing dust and the others we have discussed on this page can be very dangerous if handled incorrectly. It is for this reason that we recommend you use our services.
Can I Do My Own Commercial Hazardous Materials Survey?
Absolutely not. Asbestos risk assessments must be completed by a licensed professional who has completed all relevant training in dealing with hazardous materials.
This is not just our recommendation but is governed by state legislation.
Should All Asbestos Be Removed?
It depends on how much asbestos there is, where it is, the type of asbestos and whether removing it will cause more damage than it’s worth. For this reason, you should arrange an inspection in Brisbane from one of our asbestos environmental consultants.
Where Can I Find Asbestos?
Asbestos is usually found on properties built prior to the 1990s, however it is not uncommon to find it in properties built as late as 2004.
Can You Tell Me More About Independent Testing?
NATA accredited testing is required for all asbestos and hazardous materials samples. We have an independent NATA lab that analyses all our samples.
How Long Before I Receive Results?
It depends on the hazardous material you’re dealing with. Time frames are usually as follows:
– lead paint – 7 business days
– mould – 7 business days (minimum)
– asbestos – 24 hoursDetailed reporting can take up to 14 business days though we do try to get these to you sooner where possible.
To find out more about testing periods and when you can expect to receive results, contact us.
